Sketch Saturday - Help Me Grow

For this week’s Sketch Challenge I used the Help Me Grow Dies along with the Nature Walk Designer Series Paper. I die cut the pot and plants right from that paper.

Here’s the sketch I used. It’s from the weekly Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Tips & Instructions

  • Crumb Cake Card Base - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4-1/4

  • Basic White Layer - 4 x 5-1/4, adhere to the card base.

  • Nature’s Walk Designer Series Paper - cut six squares at 1 x 1.

  • Natures Walk Designer Series Paper - die cut the smaller pot and the plants using the Help Me Grow Dies. I used both sides of the same piece of paper. This is the pattern I used.

  • Fit the plants through the slit in the pot and tape down in the back.

  • Stamp the sentiment on a 1 x 2-3/8 strip of Basic White in Pretty Peacock ink. The sentiment is from the Balloon Festoon Stamp Set. Use a Sponge Dauber to add some Crumb Cake in around the edges.

  • Arrange the squares, pot and sentiment on the card to determine spacing. Adhere the squares, then adhere the plant and the sentiment with Dimensionals.

  • Add some Faux Bronze Pentagons.

On the inside layer (4 x 5-1/4), stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink. Die cut another pot and plant and adhere to the bottom, left corner, letting it hang off the side. Trip off what is hanging off.

This is a great masculine birthday card. The plant almost looks real cut from the paper with the variations of the greens.
