Sketch Challenge - Stitched Stocking

Here’s my card for this week’s Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. I struggled a little bit with this one and then came across these squares in the Stitched Stocking Bundle and thought they would work well.

Here’s the sketch I used. You can see all the projects posted for this week’s challenge by clicking on the sketch below.

Tips & Instructions

  • Real Red Card Base - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4-1/4

  • Basic White Layer - 4-1/8 x 5-3/8, adhere to the card base.

  • Real Red Mat - 1-7/8 x 3-7/8

  • Basic White Layer - 1-3/4 x 3-3/4, stamp the Merry & Bright in Real Red using the Stitched Stocking Stamp Set. I started with “BRIGHT”, covering the other words with masking tape, inking it up, removing the tape and stamping. I repeated this for the “&” and then again for the word “MERRY”. Adhere the layer to the mat and then to the card.

  • Die cut 2 leaves from Shaded Spruce and berries from Real Red using the Stitched Stocking Dies. Adhere to the card.

  • Die cut the square with the present from Real Red, the square with the tree from Shaded Spruce and the envelope from Basic White.

  • Stamp the “cheers” sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink on the envelope.

  • Adhere the squares and envelope to the card.

  • Tie a bow with Real Red Stitched Ribbon and adhere with a Glue Dot.

On the inside layer (4 x 5-1/4), stamp the sentiment Real Red ink. Die cut the small trees from Shaded Spruce and adhere across the bottom.

I love how cheerful and bright this card is. Those squares with the stitched tree and present are so fun.
