Sketch Challenge - Splendid Autumn Birthday Card

The Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper is beautiful. The patterns have a hand-painted impressionist look. I made the card for this week’s Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge.

Here’s the sketch I used. You can see all the projects posted for this week’s challenge by clicking on the sketch below.

Tips & Instructions

  • Thick Basic White Card Base - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4-1/4

  • Azure Afternoon Layer - 4 x 5-1/4

  • Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper - cut grid pieces 1/2” x 1. Start with a 3 x 4 piece with the pattern you want to use. Cut it into three 1” strips. Then cut each strip into 1/2” pieces keeping them in order. Adhere them to create the grid on the Azure Afternoon Layer. I adhered the middle piece and then added each side and did this row by row. I cut them as I went to help me keep them in order.

  • Stamp the sentiment in Cajun Craze Ink using the More Messages Stamp Set. Die cut with the coordinating die. Adhere to the card.

  • Adhere the layer to the card base.

  • Add some small Cajun Craze & Gold Dots.

On the inside layer (4 x 5-1/4), stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze ink, die cut with the coordinating die and adhere. Adhere a 1 x 4 piece of the Designer Series Paper.

I love how this card turned out with the pretty flowers cut into a grid.
