I love these cute little monkeys from the Silly Safari Stamp Set. I stamped them on the circle to have them “monkeying around”. The ribbon I wrapped around the Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper is supposed to be bamboo to go along with the scene.
Here’s the sketch I used from the weekly Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. You can see all the projects posted for this week’s challenge by clicking on the sketch below.
Tips & Instructions
Crumb Cake Card Base - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4-1/4
Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper - 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
Wrap 3 pieces of Gray Granite Variegated Trim around the Designer Series Paper and attached them to the back. Adhere the layer to the card base.
Die cut the 2nd from largest circle from Basic White using the Spotlight on Nature Dies. Stamp the monkey images around the circle in Black Memento Ink.
Use Stampin’ Blends to color the monkeys. I used Dark & Light Crumb Cake and a little Light Bubble Bath for the ears and mouth.
Adhere the circle to the card with Dimensionals.
Stamp just the “party animal” sentiment on a 1/2” strip of Basic White Black Memento ink. Banner both ends and adhere to the card with Dimensionals (put the Dimensionals only on the part that doesn’t sit on the circle.
On the inside layer (4 x 5-1/4), stamp sentiment in Black Memento ink. Stamp the animals in Black Memento ink across the bottom and color with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Use Light Darling Duckling and Crumb Cake on the giraffe, Light Timid Tiger on the cheetah, Crumb Cake on the monkey and light Smokey Slate on the rhino.
This card is perfect for my grandson who loves animals and is crazy about the Lion King so the Hakuna Matata sentiment in the inside is perfect for him.
