Sketch Challenge - Country Woods Cabin

When I saw the sketch for this week’s Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge, I decided to create a house like the log home my husband built and where we raised our children.

Here’s the sketch I used. You can see all the projects posted for this week’s challenge by clicking on the sketch below.

Tips & Instructions

  • Azure Afternoon Card Base - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4-1/4

  • Basic White - 3-7/8 x 5-1/8. adhere to the card base.

  • Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper - 3-3/4 x 5, adhere to the card.

  • Country Woods Designer Series Paper:

    • Cut the house at 2-1/4 x 3-3/4

    • Create the roof using the Stylish Shapes Dies. Lay the 2nd and 3rd from largest square dies on a piece of the Designer Series Paper to cut a frame. Then cut it in half to create 2 angle pieces. Adhere one of the pieces to the house and cut off the triangles that are above the roof.

    • Cut the door using the smalles Everyday Arches Dies and cut off the bottom. Adhere to the house.

  • Adhere the house to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Stamp the sentiment on a strip of Basic White in Azure Afternoon Ink. I used the Silly Safari Stamp Set and just stamped the “welcome”. Cut down to 3/8 x 1-5/8 and then adhere to the house.

  • Add some clear Ladybug Garden Epoxy Shapes.

For the inside layer, cut a piece of the Country Woods Designer Series Paper at 4 x 5-1/4 and then layer a piece of Basic White that’s cut at 3-3/4 x 5.

I love the turquoise door on the house and the beautiful sunset background layer.
