Life Is Beautiful Snowman Card

The Life Is Beautiful Stamp Set is one of my favorites and it’s on the retiring list. I wanted to make one more card using it so I decided to make a snowman themed Christmas Card with it.

Life Is Beautiful Snowman Card2.jpg

In my video below I’ll show you how to make this card using the Snowman Splendor Stamp Set and Snowman Builder Punch.

Tips & Instructions

  • Pacific Point Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper - 5 1/4 x 4

  • Stamp tree image from Life Is Beautiful on Designer Series Paper using Soft Suede Ink. I used my Stamparatus because it is a large stamp and also wanted to stamp it multiple times to get a darker image.

  • Stamp the sentiment using Pacific Point Ink.

  • Emboss a 4” piece of Whisper White using the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder and tear across the top. Adhere to bottom of Designer Series Paper.

  • On a piece of Whisper White Cardstock stamp the snowman and hat and punch with the coordinating punch.

  • Color using Stampin’ Blends - the hat with Dark Real Red, Dark Shaded Spruce, Dark Smoky Slate and Light Seaside Spray and the snowman’s carrot with Dark Pumpkin Pie. I added a little Light Seaside Spray to the side of the snowman.

  • Adhere the snowman and hat using Dimensionals.

  • Punch the arms from a scrap of Soft Suede Cardstock and adhere behind the snowman.

  • Adhere layer to card base and add some Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes.

Life Is Beautiful Snowman Card1.jpg

On the inside stamp the sentiment and some snowflakes with Pacific Point Ink. To get a lighter shade for the snowflakes, I stamped off first.

Pretty Pink Poinsettia!

I wanted to make a pink poinsettia using the Poinsettia Dies but wasn’t sure which pink to use. I decided on Petal Pink Cardstock and then I sponged it with Petal Pink Ink to make it a little darker. It turned out great!

Pretty Pink Poinsettia card2.jpg

These dies are awesome. I love that you can just cut the stamped poinsettia and leaves but the best part is that you can use the middle piece to emboss while you cut. The embossing adds beautiful texture.

Tips & Instructions

  • Shaded Spruce Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Shaded Spruce Layer - 5 1/4 x 4, emboss with Tasteful Textures 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to card base.

  • Petal Pink Cardstock - cut and emboss the 3 poinsettias and adhere together offsetting each. Sponge the poinsettia using Petal Pink Ink to get a darker shade.

  • Gold Foil Sheet - cut and emboss 3 leaves (1 large and 2 small) and one small poinsettia.

  • Adhere the small gold poinsettia to center of pink poinsettia.

  • Merry Merlot Cardstock - cut 2 sprigs.

  • Whisper White Strip - 1/2”, stamp sentiment (from Itty Bitty Christmas) with Shaded Spruce Ink. Punch both ends using the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch.

I’ll show you how to use the dies to make this card, along with a mistake I made and hope it will help you avoid making it too. You really have to look and think about how to cut with them.

Tips & Instructions

  • Early Espresso Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Ornate Gardens Designer Series Paper - 5 1/4 x 4

  • Whisper White Layer - 5 1/4 x 4, cut two pieces using the Curvy Die as shown in the video.

  • Adhere curvy layers to Designer Series Paper layer at top and bottom and adhere to card base.

  • Stamp 3 birds on scrap of Whisper White Cardstock with Black Memento Ink and cut with coordinating dies.

  • Color the birds with Stampin’ Blends. I colored part of the bellies with Light Calypso Coral and Light Crumb Cake and the rest of the bird with Dark Seaside Spray.

  • Adhere birds with Dimensionals. I used the Mini Dimensionals.

Simple Joy To The World Card

This was such an easy card to make and I think it’s very festive and fun. I used the Peace & Joy Stamp Set.

Curvy Celebrations - Thinking Of You2.jpg

This stamp set has big and bold sentiments. There are coordinating dies that cut them out or cut just the words and they can be layered.

Tips & Instructions

  • Real Red Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Whisper White Layer - 5 1/4 x 4

  • Stamp the JOY sentiment randomly with Shaded Spruce Ink. Stamp the berries with Real Red Ink.

  • Wrap a piece of Real Red Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon around the card and adhere to back. Adhere layer to card base.

  • Stamp Sentiment with Real Red Ink on Whisper White Cardstock and cut with Stitched So Sweetly Die. Cut a piece of Real Red Cardstock with Die. Cut the Real Red label in half, horizontally and adhere each piece behind sentiment label separating so they create a border behind the label.

  • Adhere label to card using Dimensionals.

  • Stamp holly leaves with Shaded Spruce Ink and berries with Real Red Ink on scrap of Whisper White and fussy cut. Adhere to sentiment label.

Sketch Saturday - Snowman Season

Today’s sketch was fun to do. As soon as I saw it, I thought about using one of the snowmen from the Snowman Season Stamp Set.

The snowmen in this stamp set are so cute. There is a coordinating punch that punches out the larger snowman, nose, hat and arms. The sentiments are fun and in a great font.
