Sketch Saturday - Notes of Spring

For this week’s Sketch Challenge I used The Notes of Spring Stamp Set and Wood Grain Wonders Designer Series Paper. This is a great masculine birthday card.

Here’s the sketch I used from the weekly Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

The Notes of Spring Stamp Set is the March Product of the Month and it has some sweet images. You can get this for just $5 while supplies last when you place a $75 product order.

Tips & Instructions

  • Early Espresso Card Base - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4-1/4

  • Basic White Layer - 4 x 5-1/4

  • Cut strips of the Wood Grain Wonders Designer Series Paper. The center strip is cut at 3/8 x 3-1/2, 4 medium strips cut at 3/8 x 3-1/4 and 4 short strips cut at 3/8 x 3.

  • Arrange the strips upside down and in the size order shown starting with the longest in the middle and use a piece of tape to hold them together. Adhere the grouping of strips to the white layer and then to the card base.

  • Using the scalloped oval from the Scalloped Wishes Dies, die cut from Early Espresso and then again from Basic White.

  • Stamp the deer on the Basic White oval in Pecan Pie ink.

  • Stamp the sentiment on a 1/2” strip of Basic White in Pecan Pie. Banner one end.

  • Adhere the strip to the card and then the Early Espresso scalloped oval piece over the sentiment strip.

  • Adhere the stamped oval in place using Dimensionals.

  • Add some Earthy Matte Dots.

On the inside layer (4 x 5-1/4), stamp the sentiment Pecan Pie ink. Stamp the grass in Old Olive ink and the deer in Pecan Pie ink.

I love this sweet deer framed in the scalloped shape against the woodgrain paper strips—it gives the card such a warm, natural feel.
