Sketch Challenge - Simply Leaves

This week’s Sketch Challenge has a sunburst background and I decided to use the Textured Tree Ring 3D Embossing Folder for it. From there, I went with leaves to keep it on the natural side.

Here’s the sketch I used. You can see all the projects posted for this week’s challenge by clicking on the sketch below.

Tips & Instructions

  • Basic Beige Card Base - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4-1/4

  • Basic Beige - 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, emboss using the Textured Tree Ring 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to the card base.

  • Stamp the large leaf on Basic Beige Cardstock in Garden Green ink, stamping off first to get a lighter shade. Punch with the coordinating Simple Leaf Punch.

  • Stamp some of the smaller leaf images on Basic Beige Cardstock in Granny Apple Green and Garden Green inks. Fussy cut.

  • Die cut the oval from Basic White using the Framed Violets Dies. Run the edge along a Crumb Cake ink pad. Stamp the dots all over the oval in Basic Beige ink. I used the Framed Violets Stamp Set.

  • On a 1-1/4 x 1-5/8 piece of Basic White, stamp the sentiment in Crumb Cake and round the corners. Run the edge along the Crumb Cake ink pad.

  • Adhere the sentiment to the oval and then adhere the oval to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Adhere the leaves to the card with Dimensionals.

Basic Beige inside layer (4 x 5-1/4) - stamp the sentiment in Crumb Cake ink and stamp some leaves in Granny Apple Green and Garden Green inks.

I love the embossed layer with the leaves, perfect for a masculine birthday!
