Oh boy, this week’s Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge was a tough one for me. I was trying to figure out what to use in the background and decided to go with stamping the leaves with a white stamp pad.
The Natural Botanicals Stamp Set has reversible stamps so you can stamp the back side of the stamp to get a plain leaf and then the front side to get the detailed look.
Here’s the sketch I used. You can see all the projects posted for this week’s challenge by clicking on the sketch below.
Tips & Instructions
Crushed Curry Card Base - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4-1/4
Cajun Craze Layer - 3-3/4 x 5
Ink the back side of the leaf image with Whisper White Ink and stamp multiple times in 3 different areas on the Cajun Craze layer. Let the ink dry; you can dry it with a heat tool.
Stamp 3 leaves using the detailed side on Crushed Curry Cardstock in Cajun Craze Ink. Fussy cut the leaves and adhere to the layer over the white stamped images, offsetting a little bit.
Stamp the sentiment on a 3/4” strip of Crushed Curry in Cajun Craze Ink. Adhere to the card with Dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Gathering Moments Stamp Set.
Add some Cajun Craze & Gold Dots.
For the inside, stamp the sentiment in Cajun Craze and the leaf in Crushed Curry on a 3-3/4 x 5 Basic White layer. Adhere to a 4 x 5-1/4 Cajun Craze layer and adhere to the card inside.
I'm happy with the white leaves behind the stamped leaves for this sketch challenge.
