Sketch Challenge - A Child Is Born

The A Child Is Born Stamp Set has wonderful Nativity images and beautiful Christmas sentiments. I used the Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper for the purple die cut and the background layer.

I made this card for the weekly Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. Here’s the sketch I used. You can see all the projects posted for this week’s challenge by clicking on the sketch below.

Tips & Instructions

  • Thick Basic White Card Base - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, score at 4-1/4

  • Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper (blue) - 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, adhere to the card base.

  • Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper (purple) - die cut using the 3rd from largest die from the Layering Diorama Dies. This die set is retired but you can fussy cut the shape if you don’t have the dies.

  • Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper (silver) - die cut using the 2nd from largest die from the Layering Diorama Dies. Again, you can fussy cut by laying the purple shape on it and just cut this one a little bigger.

  • Stamp the Nativity image on the purple layer in Versamark Ink and heat emboss with Silver Embossing Powder.

  • Stamp some stars on the top left and bottom right areas of the purple and blue layers in Versamark Ink and heatemboss with Silver Embossing Powder.

  • Adhere the silver glimmer shape to the card and then adhere the purple shape to it with Dimensionals.

  • Stamp the sentiment on a 1/2” strip of the blue Designer Series Paper in Versamark Ink and heat emboss with Silver Embossing Powder. Adhere to the card.

For the inside layer cut the purple Designer Series Paper piece to 4 x 5-1/4. I used the piece that I cut the shape from. Stamp the sentiment on a 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Basic White in Highland Heather Ink.

The picture doesn’t do this card justice. The silver embossing is beautiful on the purple layer.
