Sketch Saturday - Flower Cart

Here’s my card for this week’s sketch challenge. I had a hard time with the background strips but I think this works. The pretty flowers are from the Flower Cart Stamp Set.

The sketch I used is from the weekly Atlantic Sketch Challenge. This was a challenge for sure. I didn’t want the background to be too busy so I stuck with the same color.

Tips & Instructions

  • Thick Basic White Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

  • Basic White Layer - 5 1/4 x 4

  • Four strips of patterned paper - 5 1/4 x 15/16 I used the Pebble Path In Color Designer Series Paper. Adhere the strips to the Basic White layer. I started with both outside strips and adhered them right up to the edge. Adhere the center strips leaving equal amounts of white space between.

  • Fresh Freesia Layer - 3 3/4 x 3 Stamp the sentiment in Versamark Ink on the Fresh Freesia Layer. Heat emboss with White Embossing Powder.

  • Basic White Square - 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 Stamp the flower pots in Pebbled Path ink. Stamp the greenery in Garden Green ink. Stamp the flowers in Fresh Freesia ink.

  • Adhere the square to the Fresh Freesia Layer. Wrap a piece of Pebbled Path Textured Ribbon around the layer and adhere to the back. Adhere layer to the card with Dimensionals.

  • Tie bow with ribbon and adhere with a Glue Dot.

  • Add some Fresh Freesia Tinsel Gems.

On the inside layer (4 x 5 1/4) stamp sentiment and single flower pot in Pebbled Path ink. Stamp the greenery in Garden Green and the flowers in Fresh Freesia inks.

I love how nicely the greenery and flowers stamp together. I stamped the greenery first and it was easy to line up the flowers.
