Sketch Challenge - Earthen Textures

For this week’s Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge I used the beautiful Earthen Elegance Products. I love the natural look of the Designer Series Paper in this suite.

Tips & Instructions

  • Crumb Cake Card Base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4 (you can use any color because it is completely covered by the front layer.

  • Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper - cut 3 pieces, 3 different patterns. (Tip - Lay the pieces on the card base to be sure everything is lined up and squared up.

    • Largest triangle - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, then cut across at a diagonal, point to point.

    • Top piece - 5 1/2 x 2, adhere behind the large triangle piece.

    • Smallest triangle - about 3 1/2 x 2 1/2, adhere behind layer to fill in the last open area.

  • Adhere the layer to the card base.

  • Cut piece of Vellum Cardstock using the 2nd from largest Stylish Shapes Dies.

  • Cut vases from the Designer Series Paper using the Earthen Textures Dies. Cut the top piece and adhere to one of the vases.

  • Stamp Wheat on scrap of Basic White with Wild Wheat Ink. I stamped once and then a second time without re-inking to get two different shades. Cut using the coordinating dies. Adhere behind the vases.

  • .Adhere vases to vellum circle with Dimensionals and adhere the circle to the card.

  • Stamp sentiment on 1/2 strip of Basic White with Wild Wheat Ink and banner one end. Slip it behind the circle.

I love the textured look of the patterns in this paper pack. You want to touch it to see if you can feel the texture.

On the inside layer stamp the sentiment and pot with Copper Clay Ink. Stamp the wheat with Wild Wheat Ink. (Tip - cover the pot with a Post-It or scrap of paper so you can stamp the wheat without getting ink on the pot.)
